The project "Implementation of mission-based science and innovation programs" will be implemented in three priority mission themes according to the priorities of smart specialization:
- "Safe and inclusive e. society" - implemented by the Kaunas University of Technology consortium;
- "Smart and climate-neutral Lithuania" - implemented by the Vilnius Gediminas Technical University consortium;
- "Innovations for health" - implemented by the Vilnius University consortium.
Missions in different topics will promote joint scientific and business cooperation projects, develop and commercialize business and scientific ideas through the establishment of startups / spin-offs, conduct fundamental or early-stage scientific research, fill existing service and infrastructure gaps for research and experimental development (R&D) activities in high-tech readiness levels. During the implementation of the project, the issue of lack of startup incubators, prototyping spaces, and test production lines will be addressed.

Tech-Park Kaunas will contribute to the progress measure "Establish a coherent system for promoting innovative activities" by strengthening the startup ecosystem in the region of Central and Western Lithuania with the help of the following activities:
Hackathons: it will provide opportunities for business ideas to stand out and develop and for teams to form. It is a great platform to create a network among talented individuals with different competencies.
Pre-acceleration programme: designed to prepare the business model for start-ups and to deepen entrepreneurial knowledge. Through this programme, startups will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to develop a successful business.
Startup Incubation Programme: designed for the long-term development of startups by providing them with advisory and support services and infrastructure. It helps startups to get the right support and resources to grow their businesses.

Membership of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP)
Project description:
One of the main objectives of Tech-Park Kaunas' membership in IASP is to secure a partnership in the Horizon Europe program. The aim is to be able to participate in the Horizon Europe program in order to be able to submit more than 2 new international applications per year by 1 March 2026.
The project aims to provide innovation consultancy and support services which promote R&D&I and its effectiveness in business, technology transfer, innovative entrerpeneurship, participation of companies in international R&D&I programmes and pre-commercial purchases.
Project target group consists of organizations and businesses in innovation ecosystem.
The end results of the project are: technology scouting services, news startups open for R&D&I services, investment on R&D&I for the companies consulted within the project, should be approximately 5 million Eur within 3 years.
The project aims to develop international partnerships and networking through the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) in search of opportunities to participate in international scientific research & experimental development and innovation (R&D) initiatives.
Project target group consists of SMEs, organizations and businesses in innovation ecosystem.
The end results of the project are: to sign agreements with international partners, binding Kaunas STP and international partners jointly submit applications for implementation of international initiatives / programs in the field of R&D through active participation in these events.
