nZEB energetic communities can correlate with the Distribution Systems Operator. “Energetic communities” is an emerging concept which can range from a block of households in a street all the way to an entire district. Their activities can be sorted into local generation and storage, demand response schemes, collective purchasing as well as energy exchange and trading. Demand side flexibility is an important asset that energetic communities can use to offer ancillary services to the grid.
On the free webinar Professor João Martins (FCT NOVA - Faculty of Science and Technology, Universidade Nova de Lisboa) analyses the building and energetic community aggregated flexibility in order to provide flexibility services to the grid, proposing a methodology to compute the value of this flexibility.
